Vāda is the first product built on the Atta engine. It packages multi-agent deliberation into callable teams: Reviewers, Crucible, Sparring, War Room, and more. Each team is a YAML configuration the engine compiles into a runnable plan.

02 / Atta Engine
The Atta engine is a runtime for multi-agent deliberation. It compiles YAML team configurations into executable plans, runs them through a LangGraph state machine, and routes per-turn calls through a cognitive router — intent classification, tool filtering, budget enforcement, cost tracking.
The engine has zero branches on workflow type. Every variation between deliberations — number of agents, rounds, audit configuration, synthesis behavior — lives in YAML. Adding a new deliberation pattern is creating a YAML file, not changing engine code.

AttaLabs is where Atta is being built in public. Each component ships when it's useful and remains part of the lab. Vāda is in active use. Vitakka is in scaffold. Atta will eventually move to its own home as the composed product matures.

Each Pāli term is a precise concept from a tradition that thought carefully about minds. Vāda is debate. Vitakka is directed thought. Atta is the self that continues. Names that already mean what we want them to mean.
